The next day, Yuta's sock is gone. Then Mom's slipper. Then Yuta's red ball! "We have a thief!" says Yuta.
次の日には、ユウタの靴下がなくなった。それから、お母さんのスリッパ。それから、ユウタの赤いボールまで！「うちにどろぼうがいる！」とユウタは言った。
Everyone looks at Kuro. Kuro wags his tail. "Kuro, is it you?" asks Mom. Kuro looks very happy.
みんながクロを見た。クロはしっぽを振っている。「クロ、あなたなの？」とお母さんが聞いた。クロはとてもうれしそうな顔をしていた。
Then Grandma says, "Oh no! Where are my glasses? They are gone, too!"
そのとき、おばあちゃんが言った。「あら大変！ わたしの眼鏡はどこかしら？ 眼鏡までなくなったわ！」
Yuta watches Kuro. Kuro goes under the big persimmon tree. He digs and digs.
ユウタはクロを見張った。クロは大きな柿の木の下へ行くと、どんどん穴を掘っていった。

ユウタは穴をのぞきこんだ。お父さんの靴！ ユウタの靴下！ お母さんのスリッパ！ 赤いボール！

でも、おばあちゃんの眼鏡はなかった。「クロ、おばあちゃんの眼鏡はどこ？」クロはおばあちゃんを見上げた。
Yuta looks at Grandma, too. Then he laughs. "Grandma! Your glasses are on your head!" "Oh my!" says Grandma. Everyone laughs. Tofu just yawns.
ユウタもおばあちゃんを見た。そして、ぷっと吹き出した。「おばあちゃん！ 眼鏡、頭の上にのってるよ！」「あらまあ！」とおばあちゃん。みんな大笑いした。トウフだけは、のんきにあくびをしていた。
Then Kuro digs again. Clink! There is something in the hole. It is a small, old box.
そのとき、クロがまた掘りはじめた。カチン！ 穴の中に何かある。小さな、古い箱だった。
