Adults can see the permanent exhibits at three national museums in Tokyo for free on November 3. That day is Culture Day, a national holiday in Japan.

At the National Museum of Nature and Science, you can see dinosaur skeletons. Adults usually pay 630 yen there. The National Museum of Western Art shows Western paintings and sculptures by Rodin.

The Tokyo National Museum has about 120,000 items, including 90 National Treasures. But you still need a ticket for its special exhibitions on that day.

There is good news for students. High school students and younger children don't have to wait for the holiday. They can see the permanent exhibits at all three museums for free on other days, too. They may need to show a student ID.

Culture Day became a holiday in 1948. Japan's Constitution was announced on November 3, 1946. The holiday is a day to love freedom and peace and to promote culture.

GRAMMAR文法ポイント:受け身(be動詞 + 過去分詞)

「~される」「~された」は be動詞のあとに過去分詞を置く。本文の Japan's Constitution was announced on November 3, 1946. は「日本国憲法は1946年11月3日に公布された」。だれがしたかより、何がされたかを伝えたいときに使う。
