Snap! The cat bites off the mouse's tail. "Please, cat, give me my tail!" "No," says the cat. "Bring me some milk first."
パクッ！ ネコが、ネズミのしっぽをかみ切ってしまいました。「ネコさん、お願い、しっぽを返して！」「いやだね」と、ネコは言いました。「先にミルクを持っておいで」
Run, run! The mouse runs to the cow. "Please, cow, give me some milk!" "No," says the cow. "Bring me some hay first."
ネズミは、タッタッタッとウシのところへ走っていきました。「ウシさん、お願い、ミルクをちょうだい！」「だめよ」と、ウシは答えました。「先に干し草を持ってきてちょうだい」

ネズミは、タッタッタッとお百姓さんのところへ走っていきました。「お百姓さん、お願い、干し草をください！」「だめだめ」と、お百姓さんは言いました。「先にパンを持ってきておくれ」

ネズミは、タッタッタッとパン屋さんのところへ走っていきました。「パン屋さん、お願い、パンをください！」
"Yes," says the baker. "Here you are. But do not eat my flour!"
「いいとも」と、パン屋さんは言いました。「さあ、どうぞ。でも、うちの小麦粉を食べちゃいけないよ！」
The mouse gives the bread to the farmer. The farmer gives her hay.
ネズミは、そのパンをお百姓さんにあげました。お百姓さんは、干し草をくれました。
She gives the hay to the cow. The cow gives her milk.
その干し草をウシにあげると、ウシはミルクをくれました。
She gives the milk to the cat. The cat drinks it.
そのミルクをネコにあげると、ネコはミルクを飲みました。
"Here is your tail," says the cat. "Thank you!" says the mouse.
「ほら、きみのしっぽだよ」と、ネコは言いました。「ありがとう！」と、ネズミはお礼を言いました。
