Three billy goats want to eat green grass. The grass is on the hill, over the bridge.
三匹のヤギが、青い草を食べたいと思っていました。草は、橋を渡った向こうの丘に生えていました。
But a big, ugly troll lives under the bridge.
ところが、その橋の下には、大きくて醜いトロルが住んでいたのです。
Trip, trap! The little goat goes on the bridge.
カタ、コト！ 小さいヤギが橋を渡りはじめました。
"Who is on my bridge?" roars the troll. "I will eat you up!"
「おれの橋を渡るのはだれだ？」と、トロルがほえました。「食ってやるぞ！」
"Oh, no! I am very little," says the little goat. "Wait for my big brother."
「やめて！ ぼくはとっても小さいんだ」と、小さいヤギは言いました。「ぼくの兄さんが来るまで待ってよ」
"Go, then," says the troll.
「なら、行け」と、トロルは言いました。
Trip, trap! The middle goat goes on the bridge. "I will eat you up!" roars the troll.
カタ、コト！ 中くらいのヤギが橋を渡りはじめました。「食ってやるぞ！」と、トロルがほえました。
"Oh, no! Wait for my big brother. He is very big."
「やめて！ ぼくの兄さんが来るまで待ってよ。兄さんはとっても大きいんだ」
TRIP, TRAP! The big goat comes. "I will eat you up!" roars the troll.
ガタ、ゴト！ 大きいヤギがやって来ました。「食ってやるぞ！」と、トロルがほえました。
"Come and try!" says the big goat. BANG! He hits the troll with his big horns. SPLASH! The troll falls into the river.
「やれるものなら、やってみろ！」と、大きいヤギは言いました。ドーン！ 大きな角でトロルを突き飛ばしました。ザブーン！ トロルは川に落ちてしまいました。
The three goats go up the hill. They eat and eat. Now they are very, very fat!
三匹のヤギは丘に登りました。そして、食べて、食べて、食べました。今では、みんなとっても、とっても太っています！
