A big oak tree stands by a river. It is tall and strong. "I am the strongest tree," it says. "No wind can move me."
Little reeds grow by the river, too. They are thin. The wind blows. They bend. Down, up. Down, up.
One night, a big wind comes. Whoosh! The oak does not bend. It fights the wind. Whoosh! Crack! The big oak falls down. It falls into the river, near the reeds.
The oak looks at the reeds. "You are so thin and weak," it says. "Why are you OK?"
"You fight the wind," say the reeds. "So you break. We bend in the wind. So we do not break."
