Some geese and some cranes are in a field. They eat grass and seeds. "Yum, yum," they say.
ガチョウとツルが、野原にいました。草や種を食べながら、「おいしい、おいしい」と言っていました。
A man comes. He has a big net. He wants to catch birds. Shh! He walks slowly.
そこへ、男がやって来ました。男は大きな網を持っていました。鳥を捕まえようというのです。しーっ！ 男はそろりそろりと歩いてきました。
The cranes see him. "A man! A net!" They open their long, light wings. Flap, flap! Up they go, into the sky.
ツルたちが男に気づきました。「人間だ！ 網だ！」ツルたちは長くて軽い翼を広げました。バサッ、バサッ！ ツルたちは空へ舞い上がりました。
The geese see him, too. "Run! Fly!" But the geese are big and heavy. Flap, flap, flap. Up... no. They are too slow.
ガチョウたちも男に気づきました。「逃げろ！ 飛べ！」でも、ガチョウたちは大きくて重いのです。バタ、バタ、バタ。上へ……だめです。のろすぎるのです。
The net comes down. The man catches the geese. Up in the sky, the cranes fly far away.
網がかぶさってきて、男はガチョウたちを捕まえてしまいました。空の上では、ツルたちが遠くへ飛んでいきました。
