A donkey finds a lion skin. He puts it on. "Look at me!" he says. "I am a lion now!"
ロバがライオンの皮を見つけて、それをかぶりました。「見てよ！」と、ロバは言いました。「ぼくはもうライオンだぞ！」
He walks into the forest. A rabbit sees him. "A lion!" The rabbit runs away. A sheep sees him. "A lion!" The sheep runs away. A goat sees him. "A lion!" The goat runs away.
ロバは森の中へ歩いていきました。ウサギがロバを見ました。「ライオンだ！」ウサギは逃げていきました。ヒツジがロバを見ました。「ライオンだ！」ヒツジは逃げていきました。ヤギがロバを見ました。「ライオンだ！」ヤギも逃げていきました。
The donkey is very happy. "Ha ha! Everyone is afraid of me!"
ロバは大喜びでした。「ははは！ みんな、ぼくを怖がっているぞ！」
Then he sees a fox. "I will scare the fox, too," he thinks. He opens his mouth. "Hee-haw! Hee-haw!"
そのとき、ロバはキツネを見つけました。「キツネも怖がらせてやろう」と、ロバは思いました。ロバは口を開けました。「ヒーホー！ ヒーホー！」
The fox laughs. "Oh, Donkey! You look like a lion. But you sound like a donkey!"
キツネは笑いました。「まあ、ロバさん！ 見た目はライオンみたいね。でも、声はロバそのものよ！」
