A dog loves eggs. Every day, he eats eggs. Eggs, eggs, eggs! "Round things are eggs," he thinks. "Round things are good!"
卵が大好きな犬がいました。犬は毎日、卵を食べていました。卵、卵、卵！ 「丸い物は卵だ」と、犬は思っていました。「丸い物はおいしいんだ！」
One day, he walks on the beach. He sees something round. It is an oyster. "An egg!" says the dog. "Yum!"
ある日、犬は浜辺を歩いていました。何か丸い物が見えました。それはカキでした。「卵だ！」と、犬は言いました。「おいしそう！」
He opens his mouth very wide. Gulp! He eats the oyster. Shell and all!
犬は口を大きく開けました。ゴクン！ 犬はカキを、殻ごと丸飲みにしてしまいました！
Then his tummy hurts. Ouch! Ouch! It hurts a lot. "Oh no," says the dog. "That was not an egg."
すると、おなかが痛くなってきました。痛い！ 痛い！ とても痛いのです。「ああ、しまった」と、犬は言いました。「あれは卵じゃなかったんだ」
"I am a silly dog," he says. "Not every round thing is an egg!"
「ぼくはばかな犬だなあ」と、犬は言いました。「丸い物がみんな卵ってわけじゃないんだ！」
