豆知識

1967年に佐藤栄作首相が国会答弁で表明し、1971年に衆議院で決議された。佐藤首相は1974年にノーベル平和賞を受けている。英語では not possessing, not producing, and not permitting the introduction of nuclear weapons と訳され、3つの原則なので principles と複数形になる。「持ち込ませず」をめぐっては、核を積んだ米艦の寄港などを黙認する日米の「密約」があったのかが長く問われ、2010年に外務省の有識者委員会が、広い意味での密約があったとする報告をまとめた。
