It is spring. A fisherman walks on the beach at Miho. On a pine tree, he sees a beautiful robe. It is soft and light, like feathers. "I will take it home."
Then a woman comes. She is a tennin, a lady from the sky. "Please give it back. It is my robe of feathers. Without it, I can't go home." She cries.
"Dance for me," says the fisherman. "Then I will give it back." "Yes. But I need my robe for the dance. Please give it to me first."
"No! You will fly away." The tennin looks at him. "Sky people do not lie."
The fisherman's face is red. "I am sorry," he says. He gives her the robe.
She puts on the robe and dances. She dances on the beach. She dances in the air. Up, up, up she goes. Over the sea. Over Mount Fuji. Into the spring sky. The fisherman watches and watches.
