Mika and Jun went to an escape room for Mika's birthday. In an escape room, you are locked in a room, and you must solve puzzles to get out. They had thirty minutes.
Mika loved numbers. Jun loved words. "I can do this alone," said Mika. "Me too," said Jun. So they worked on different puzzles, and they did not talk.
After fifteen minutes, Mika was stuck on a word puzzle. Jun was stuck on a number puzzle. Both of them were getting angry.
"Can I see yours?" Jun asked at last. Mika gave him her word puzzle, and he solved it in one minute. Then Mika looked at his number puzzle. "Easy!" she said, and she solved it in thirty seconds.
Now they worked together. They found a key in a book. They found a code under a chair. With two minutes left, they reached the last door. Mika put the code into the lock. Click! But the door did not open.
"Wait," said Mika. "Let's push it together." They pushed and pushed. The door did not move.
Jun looked at the door again. Then he started to laugh. "Mika, I think we should pull." He pulled the door, and it opened easily. They ran out with ten seconds left.
"Two heads are better than one." When two people think together, they can solve problems better than one person alone.
