Chip was a chocolate chip cookie. He lived in a big glass jar with his friends.

One morning, Chip did not feel well. His head hurt, and little pieces fell off his body every time he moved.
"You should go to the doctor," said his friend Oatmeal.
So Chip went to see Dr. Muffin. Dr. Muffin listened to his heart and looked into his mouth. "How do you feel?" the doctor asked.
"I feel crummy," said Chip. "Very crummy."
Dr. Muffin looked at the floor. There were crumbs everywhere. "Yes," he said. "I can see that."
He gave Chip a glass of milk. "Drink this. Then go back to your jar and rest. And please don't let anyone dip you in their milk for a few days."
Crumbs are the small pieces that fall off cookies and bread. When you feel "crummy," you feel sick or bad. Chip felt crummy, and he was crummy, too!
