Mia likes to draw. Today she draws a big blue fish.
ミアは絵を描くのが好きでした。今日は大きな青い魚を描きました。
But Mia forgets the eyes. The fish has no eyes!
でもミアは、目を描くのを忘れてしまいました。魚には目がなかったのです！
Mia shows her picture to her teacher. "What is this, Mia?" the teacher asks.
ミアは先生に絵を見せました。「ミア、これは何？」と先生がききました。
Mia thinks. Then she smiles. "It is a fsh!"
ミアは考えました。それからにっこりして答えました。「フシュです！」
"A fsh?" says the teacher.
「フシュ？」と先生。
"Yes," says Mia. "A fish with no eyes is a fsh. It has no I!"
「はい」とミア。「目のないフィッシュは、フシュなんです。I がないから！」
The teacher laughs. Then she gives Mia a pencil. "Now please give your fish two eyes."
先生は笑って、ミアに鉛筆を渡しました。「じゃあ、お魚に目を2つ描いてあげてね」
Fish is spelled F, I, S, H. Take away the letter I, and you get "fsh." The letter I sounds like eye.
fish のつづりは F、I、S、H。I の文字を取ると fsh になります。そして I の文字は eye（目）と同じ音なのです。
