セレナード第10番 変ロ長調「グラン・パルティータ」

「グラン・パルティータ」は、モーツァルトの「セレナード第10番」の愛称です。オーボエ、クラリネット、バセットホルン、ファゴットが2本ずつ、ホルンが4本、それにコントラバスを加えた13人で演奏します。7つの楽章があり、ぜんぶ演奏すると大作の交響曲なみの長さになる、管楽器のための曲としては異例の大作です。'Gran Partita' is the nickname of Mozart's Serenade No. 10. It is played by thirteen musicians: two oboes, two clarinets, two basset horns, two bassoons, four horns, and a double bass. It has seven movements, and the whole piece is as long as a big symphony, which is very unusual for music for wind instruments.

当時のウィーンでは、管楽器だけの小さな楽団が、貴族の食事会や野外のパーティーで音楽を演奏するのがはやっていました。でもこの曲は、ただのBGMではすまない豊かさと深さをもっています。作曲された年ははっきりせず、1781年から1784年ごろと考えられています。「グラン・パルティータ（大きな組曲）」という題は、モーツァルトではない人の手で楽譜に書き加えられたものです。In Vienna at that time, small bands of wind players were popular for playing at nobles' dinners and outdoor parties. But this piece is far too rich and deep to be just background music. We do not know exactly when it was written, but it is thought to date from around 1781 to 1784. The title 'Gran Partita', meaning 'great suite', was added to the score by someone other than Mozart.

1784年3月23日、クラリネット奏者アントン・シュタードラーがウィーンのブルク劇場で開いた演奏会で、この曲の一部が演奏されたと考えられています。そして1984年の映画『アマデウス』では、ライバルのサリエリがこの曲の第3楽章「アダージョ」の楽譜を見て、その美しさにうちのめされる名場面に使われ、さらに多くの人に知られるようになりました。It is thought that part of this piece was performed on March 23, 1784, at a concert given by the clarinetist Anton Stadler at the Burgtheater in Vienna. In the 1984 film Amadeus, there is a famous scene where Mozart's rival Salieri looks at the score of the third movement, the Adagio, and is overwhelmed by its beauty. This scene introduced the piece to an even wider audience.
