春（ポーランドの歌 Op.74-2 のピアノ版）

「春」は、ショパンがポーランド語の詩に曲を付けた歌曲です。詩を書いたのは、友人の詩人ステファン・ヴィトフィツキ。1838年に作曲された、ト短調の短くしずかな歌です。ショパン自身がこの歌をピアノだけで弾ける形にした版も残っていて、ここで楽しめます。Spring is a song in which Chopin set a Polish poem to music. The poem was written by his friend, the poet Stefan Witwicki. Composed in 1838, it is a short, quiet song in G minor. Chopin also made a version for piano alone, which we can enjoy here.

ショパンは生涯に、ポーランド語の歌曲を20曲ほど書きましたが、その多くは出版するためではなく、仲間うちで楽しむためのものでした。この「春」は、のどかな春の野原の情景を歌った詩に、少しさびしげで素朴なメロディーが付けられています。ピアノ版では、その歌のメロディーをピアノが歌います。Chopin wrote about 20 songs in Polish during his life. Most were not meant for publication, but for sharing among friends. In Spring, a simple and slightly wistful melody is set to a poem about a peaceful spring field. In the piano version, the piano sings that melody.

ショパンの歌曲は、亡くなったあとに友人フォンタナがまとめ、1857年にベルリンで、続いてワルシャワでも出版されて「作品74」となりました。リストもショパンのポーランドの歌曲を6曲ピアノ用に編曲していて、「春」はその中の1曲です。小さな歌ですが、ショパンのふるさとへの思いが感じられる1曲として、今も親しまれています。After Chopin's death, his friend Fontana collected his songs as Opus 74. They were published in Berlin in 1857 and also in Warsaw. Liszt also arranged six of Chopin's Polish songs for piano, and Spring is one of them. It is a small song, but it is still loved as a piece filled with Chopin's feeling for his homeland.
