This waltz is one of Chopin's shortest and simplest waltzes. It is in A minor. The right hand sings a slightly lonely, simple melody, and the left hand plays the waltz pattern, oom-pah-pah. There is almost no difficult technique, so even people who have studied piano for only a few years can play it.
No one knows exactly when it was written. It is thought to be from the 1840s, near the end of Chopin's life. The handwritten score had been kept in the library of the Paris Conservatoire since 1901. In fact, the piece had already been published in 1860 under the name of Charlotte de Rothschild. It was published again as a work by Chopin in 1955.
The piece was first published in Paris in 1860 under Charlotte de Rothschild's name. In 1955 it was published again in a Paris music magazine as a work by Chopin, and other editions followed. It has no opus number and is called Waltz No. 19 in Japan. Because it is short and fairly easy, it is now also popular as a teaching piece for piano students.
This is a very short and easy waltz. The melody is a little sad and simple. It was first printed in 1860 under another person's name. In 1955, it came out again as a work by Chopin. Today, many piano students play it.

This waltz was published in 1860 as a work by Charlotte de Rothschild. Its handwritten score was kept in the library of the Paris Conservatoire from 1901, but it was not published as Chopin's work until 1955. It took a long time for the true composer to be recognized.

This waltz is very simple and easy to play compared with many of Chopin's other pieces. That is why it is often chosen when piano students try Chopin for the first time. In its short length, it holds a lonely beauty that is typical of Chopin.
