即興曲第1番 変イ長調

即興曲は、その場で思いついたままに弾いたような、自由な感じのピアノ曲のことです。ショパンは即興曲を4曲書きましたが、この第1番は、明るい変イ長調で、細かい3つずつの音が、くるくるとリボンのように流れていきます。聴いていると、心まで軽くなるような明るさです。An impromptu is a free-sounding piano piece that seems made up on the spot. Chopin wrote four impromptus. This first one is in bright A-flat major, and its quick notes in groups of three flow and twirl like ribbons. Its brightness makes your heart feel lighter.

曲は3つの部分でできています。始めと終わりは、軽やかに流れる明るい部分です。まん中は、しっとりとしたヘ短調の部分で、歌うようなメロディーが心にしみます。そのあと、また最初の軽やかな流れがもどり、しずかに消えるように終わります。とても自然で、むだのない形です。The piece has three parts. The first and last parts are light and bright, flowing along. The middle part is in gentle F minor, with a singing melody that touches the heart. Then the light flowing music comes back, and the piece fades away quietly. The shape is natural and simple.

曲は1837年に出版され、カロリーヌ・ド・ロボー伯爵令嬢にささげられました。ショパンの即興曲で生前に出版されたのは3曲です。有名な「幻想即興曲」はこの曲より先に書かれましたが、ショパンの死後に出版されたので「第4番」とよばれています。そのため、出版の順では、この曲が「第1番」なのです。The piece was published in 1837 and dedicated to Mademoiselle Caroline de Lobau. Three of Chopin's impromptus were published in his lifetime. The famous Fantaisie-Impromptu was written before this piece, but it came out after his death, so it is called No. 4. That makes this piece No. 1 in publication order.
