12の練習曲 Op.25 第2番 ヘ短調

この曲は、ショパンの2つ目の練習曲集「12の練習曲 Op.25」の2番目の曲です。とても速いのに、ほとんどずっと小さな音で弾かれます。右手は細かい音をなめらかにつなげて流れつづけ、まるで風がそよぐように、あっというまに通りすぎていきます。つかまえようとしても、すぐに消えてしまいそうです。This is the second piece in Chopin's second set of études, Op. 25. It is very fast, but it is played softly almost all the way through. The right hand flows in smooth, quick notes and passes by in a moment, like a breeze. It seems to vanish the moment you try to catch it.

むずかしさのひみつはリズムです。右手は3つずつのまとまりで流れますが、左手はそれとはちがう区切り方で和音を弾きます。そのため、両手の拍の感じがずれて重なり、ふわふわとゆれるような不思議な響きが生まれます。速く、軽く、しかも正確に弾く力が必要です。The secret of its difficulty is rhythm. The right hand flows in groups of three, but the left hand divides the beat in a different way. The two patterns overlap, which creates a strange, floating sway. You need to play fast, lightly and very evenly.

Op.25は1837年に出版され、リストの恋人だったマリー・ダグー伯爵夫人にささげられました。ライプツィヒでショパン自身がひくOp.25の練習曲を聴いたシューマンは、この曲を、子どもがねむりながら歌っているようだ、という意味のことばで書いています。作曲者本人の演奏を聴いた人の、貴重な感想です。Op. 25 was published in 1837 and dedicated to Countess Marie d'Agoult, Liszt's partner at the time. Schumann heard Chopin himself play études from Op. 25 in Leipzig. He later wrote that this piece was like a child singing in its sleep. These are precious words from someone who heard the composer himself.
