1. 1961

   ケネディ大統領「10年以内に月へ」

   President Kennedy said, “Let’s send people to the Moon in ten years.”President Kennedy asked Congress to commit to landing a man on the Moon and returning him safely to Earth before the decade was out.アメリカのケネディ大統領が議会で「この10年のうちに、人を月に着陸させ、無事に地球へ帰す」と目標を宣言しました。

2. 1962

   「むずかしいからこそ、月へ行く」

   “We go to the Moon because it is hard, not because it is easy.”At Rice University: “We choose to go to the Moon... not because they are easy, but because they are hard.”ライス大学でのスピーチ。「かんたんだからではなく、むずかしいからこそ、わたしたちは月へ行くことを選ぶ」。

3. 1968

   

   アポロ8号、初めて人が月を回る

   Three people went around the Moon. They took a photo of the Earth rising.Three astronauts orbited the Moon for the first time and photographed “Earthrise.” On Christmas Eve, they broadcast to the world from lunar orbit.3人が初めて月のまわりを回り、月の地平線から昇る地球「地球の出（アースライズ）」を撮影しました。クリスマス・イブには月から世界へテレビ中継も。

4. 1969

   

   アポロ11号、人類が月に立つ

   Eagle landed on the Moon. Two people walked on the Moon!On July 20, 1969, the lunar module Eagle landed on the Sea of Tranquility, and Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin walked on the Moon.7月20日（日本時間21日）、着陸船イーグルが「静かの海」に着陸。アームストロングさんとオルドリンさんが月面を歩きました。

5. 1969

   

   アポロ12号、雷を乗りこえてピンポイント着陸

   Lightning hit the rocket, but Apollo 12 landed on the Moon.Struck twice by lightning after launch, Apollo 12 still reached the Moon and landed right next to an earlier robotic lander.打ち上げ直後に2回も雷を受けたのに、無事に月へ。先に着いていた無人探査機のすぐ近くに着陸しました。

6. 1970

   

   アポロ13号、「成功した失敗」

   A tank exploded. But everyone came home safe.An oxygen tank exploded. The landing was called off, but teamwork on the ground and in space brought all three astronauts home.酸素タンクが爆発。月着陸はあきらめましたが、地上と宇宙のチームワークで3人とも生きて帰りました。

7. 1971

   

   アポロ14・15号、月面車が走る

   Astronauts played golf and drove a car on the Moon!On Apollo 14, Alan Shepard hit golf balls on the Moon. From Apollo 15, astronauts drove a Lunar Roving Vehicle to explore farther.14号ではシェパードさんが月面でゴルフボールを打ち、15号からは月面車（ローバー）で遠くまで探検できるようになりました。

8. 1972

   

   アポロ17号、最後の月面着陸

   The last Apollo landing. 12 people walked on the Moon in all.In December, the last Apollo landing. On the way, the crew took the famous “Blue Marble” photo of the whole Earth. In all, 12 people have walked on the Moon.12月、アポロ計画最後の着陸。地球へ向かう途中で、まるい地球の写真「ブルー・マーブル」も撮影しました。これまでに月を歩いたのは12人です。

9. 2022

   

   アルテミス1号、無人で月へ

   A new rocket and spaceship went to the Moon with no people.The first flight of the new SLS rocket and Orion spacecraft — an uncrewed trip around the Moon and back.新しい大型ロケット SLS とオリオン宇宙船の試験飛行。人を乗せる前に、無人で月を回って帰ってきました。

10. 2026

    

    アルテミス2号、約53年ぶりに人が月へ

    Four astronauts flew around the Moon. It was the first time in about 53 years.In April, four astronauts flew around the far side of the Moon and set a new record for the farthest humans have traveled from Earth — the first crewed lunar flight since Apollo 17 in 1972.4月、4人の宇宙飛行士が月の裏側を回り、人類が地球からいちばん遠くへ行った記録を作りました。アポロ17号以来、約53年ぶりの有人月飛行です。

11. 2027

    

    アルテミス3号、地球のまわりで月着陸の総練習

    In 2027, four astronauts will practice near Earth.Four astronauts will spend about 14 days in Earth orbit, practicing docking with test versions of commercial Moon landers. Their rocket is already being assembled.4人がオリオンで地球のまわりを約14日間回り、民間の月着陸船の試験機とドッキングする練習をします。ロケットの組み立ても始まっています。

    2028年、ふたたび月面へ。そして日本人も

    In 2028, people may walk on the Moon again. Japanese astronauts will go too!NASA is targeting 2028 to land astronauts near the Moon’s South Pole, and then to build a Moon Base. Japanese astronauts are planned to join future landings.NASA は2028年に、月の南極の近くへ人を降ろすことをめざしています。その先は、人が長く暮らせる月の基地（ムーン・ベース）づくり。日本人の宇宙飛行士も、将来の月面着陸に参加する予定です。
