YOU ARE THE FLIGHT CONTROLLER

It does adhere in fine layers, like powdered charcoal, to the sole and sides of my boots. I only go in a small fraction of an inch, maybe an eighth of an inch, but I can see the footprints of my boots and the treads in the fine, sandy particles.
Neil, this is Houston. We're copying.
THE 1202 ALARM
The 1202 alarm meant, “The computer is too busy.” But the computer was smart. It did the most important jobs first, like flying the lander. In Houston, two young experts checked their list and said, “Go!”Alarm 1202 meant the Apollo Guidance Computer (AGC) had more work than it could finish in time. Data from the rendezvous radar, which wasn’t needed for landing, was eating up computing time. But the AGC’s software gave every job a priority: it ran the most important jobs first, dropped the rest and restarted cleanly. So the guidance, navigation and engine control needed for landing never stopped. In Mission Control, guidance officer Steve Bales, backed by Jack Garman, checked a list of alarms prepared in advance and made the “Go” call within seconds.「1202」は、着陸船のコンピュータ(アポロ誘導コンピュータ=AGC)が「仕事がいっぱいで、全部は時間内に終わらない」と知らせる警報です。

THE CREW

「The Eagle has landed」
「one small step for (a) man」の「a」は言った?
音声:NASA(NASA Public Affairs loop(GET 102:31:14〜)。
