Many young people in Japan know parapara, a dance from the Heisei era, a new survey shows. The company Wakamono Research asked more than 500 people aged 14 to 20 about it. About 61 percent said they knew the dance.

Some of them learned about it from Snow Man. They named the music video for the group's hit song CHARISMAX. Others saw parapara in short videos on TikTok and Instagram.

About 32 percent said they wanted to try the dance. Some said it looked easy to learn. Others wanted to dance it with their friends and make memories.

But only about 16 percent would dance it at a club if they learned it. Some of the others said clubs seemed scary or too loud.
