1Many young people in Japan know parapara, a dance from the Heisei era, a new survey shows. The company Wakamono Research asked more than 500 people aged 14 to 20 about it. About 61 percent said they knew the dance.

2Some of them learned about it from Snow Man. They named the music video for the group's hit song CHARISMAX. Others saw parapara in short videos on TikTok and Instagram.

3About 32 percent said they wanted to try the dance. Some said it looked easy to learn. Others wanted to dance it with their friends and make memories.

4But only about 16 percent would dance it at a club if they learned it. Some of the others said clubs seemed scary or too loud.

全文訳

1平成の時代のダンス「パラパラ」を、日本の多くの若い人が知っていることが、新しい調査でわかりました。ワカモノリサーチという会社が、14歳から20歳の500人以上にたずねました。約61％が、このダンスを知っていると答えました。

2知った人の中には、Snow Man がきっかけだった人もいました。その人たちは、グループのヒット曲「カリスマックス」のミュージックビデオをあげました。ほかに、TikTok やインスタグラムの短い動画でパラパラを見た人もいました。

3約32％が、このダンスをやってみたいと答えました。覚えるのがかんたんそうだと言う人もいました。友だちといっしょに踊って、思い出を作りたいと言う人もいました。

4でも、もし踊れるようになってもクラブで踊りたいと答えた人は、約16％だけでした。ほかの人の中には、クラブはこわそう、うるさすぎそうだと答えた人もいました。

文法ポイント：不定詞の名詞的用法（want to ～）

want to ＋動詞の原形で「～したい」。本文の About 32 percent said they wanted to try the dance. は「約32％がそのダンスをやってみたいと言った」。
