無限クリームとは？ファミマのスイーツ3品が6日で300万個、1秒に約6個売れた

FamilyMart sold more than 3 million cream sweets in just six days. The sweets use a new cream called Mugen Cream.

Mugen Cream is the name FamilyMart uses for two creams: its whipped cream, renewed for the first time in eight years, and a newly blended fresh cream. Mugen is the Japanese word for "endless." FamilyMart says the name reflects a taste so good that people could keep eating it forever. The fresh cream, which uses cream from Hokkaido, is used in both of the new cakes.

「無限クリーム」は、8年ぶりに新しくしたホイップクリームと、新しく配合した生クリームの2つを合わせた、ファミリーマートの呼び名です。「無限」は、英語の endless（終わりのない）にあたる日本語です。ファミリーマートは、この名前は「いつまでも食べ続けられるほどのおいしさ」を表していると説明しています。北海道の生クリームを使ったこのクリームは、新しい2つのケーキ（ロールケーキとほぼクリームのケーキ）の両方に使われています。

The first three items went on sale on October 13 at FamilyMart stores nationwide. They were a cream puff, a roll cake and a cake made almost entirely of cream. Prices ranged from 199 yen to 248 yen. For the first week, while supplies lasted, the cream puff came with 30 percent more whipped cream.

Sales of the three items passed 3 million between October 13 and October 18. FamilyMart said that works out to about six items every second. The chain has said cream is playing a bigger role in sweets, noting that cream puffs focused on the amount and taste of their cream have drawn attention this year.
