教室のごみ調査隊
🎯 教室のごみを英語の名前で分け、数を数えて、ごみを減らすアイデアを考える。
- paper / plastic / cans / food などの英語カードを箱に貼る。
- 1日分の教室のごみ（きれいなもの）を、みんなで英語で言いながら分ける。
- いちばん多かったごみを How many? で数え、表にする。
- We can use less ... の形で、減らすアイデアを1つずつ言う。

地球の絵を見せ、4月22日はアースデーで、地球のために何ができるか考える日だと伝える。4つの箱の英語を言ってリピートさせる。
🗣️ April 22 is Earth Day. / It's a day to think about our planet. / Look at these boxes. Paper. Plastic. Cans. Food. / Repeat after me.
ごみを1つずつ見せ、何のごみかを英語で言わせてから正しい箱に入れさせる。班ごとに手袋をつけた代表が入れる。
🗣️ What's this? Is it paper or plastic? / Yes, it's plastic. Put it in this box. / Next one. What's this? / Good job sorting!
箱ごとに数を英語で数えさせ、表に書きこむ。How many? と聞き、いちばん多いごみを見つけさせる。

We can use less ___. の形で、いちばん多かったごみを減らすアイデアを1人1つ言わせる。例：We can use less paper. Use both sides!

1970年のポスターを作ろう
🎯 最初のアースデーの背景を知り、英語のスローガン入りポスターを作る。
- 原油流出・燃える川・アースライズの写真を見せ、何が起きたか英語で確認する。
- 班ごとに、1970年の大学生になったつもりで英語のスローガン（例：Save Our Seas!）を考える。
- ポスターを作って教室に貼る。
- ほかの班のスローガンに投票し、理由を英語で一言書く。

3枚の写真を見せ、何が起きたかを英語で確認する。サンタバーバラ沖では300万ガロン以上の原油が流れ出し、カイヤホガ川では油に火がついたこと（見せる写真は1952年の別の火事のものだと一言そえる）、アースライズで地球が小さな星に見えたことを伝える。その結果、1970年4月22日に約2000万人が参加したことを紹介する。

1970年の大学生になったつもりで、班で英語のスローガンを考えさせる。短く・命令文か呼びかけで・韻やくり返しがあると強い、というコツを伝える。
🗣️ Let's say you are a college student in 1970. / Make a short slogan. / Use a command, like Save Our Seas! / Short words are strong words.
スローガンを大きく書き、絵を加えてポスターを作らせる。何を守りたいかが一目でわかる絵にするよう助言する。

ポスターを教室に貼り、ほかの班のポスターに投票させる。付せんに理由を英語で一言書かせる（I like it because ...）。

リサイクルマーク・デザインコンテスト
🎯 1970年のゲーリー・アンダーソンの話をヒントに、新しい環境マークを考え、英語で説明する。
- 23歳の学生がリサイクルマークを作った話を英語で読む。
- 個人またはペアで、学校の環境ルールを伝える新しいマークをデザインする。
- This symbol means ... / I chose this shape because ... の形で30秒の説明を書く。
- 発表し合い、クラスで1つを選ぶ。

リサイクルマークを見せ、だれが作ったかを予想させる。英語の読み物を読ませ、23歳の学生が500点以上の中から選ばれた話を確認する。メビウスの帯を見せ、矢印がねじれている理由に気づかせる。

個人またはペアで、学校の環境ルール（電気を消す、マイボトル、紙を両面使う など）を伝える新しいマークをデザインさせる。文字を使わず形だけで伝わるかを意識させる。
🗣️ Choose one rule for our school. / Design a symbol for it. / Don't use words. Use shapes and colors. / Can people understand it in one second?
ワークシートの型で30秒の説明を書かせる。形と色を選んだ理由を because で説明させる。

🎯 advanced の英文を読み、1970年と今の環境運動のちがいを英語で議論する。
- advanced を読み、1970年の成果と今日の課題をまとめる。
- 「啓発の日は今も政策を変えられる」で賛成・反対に分かれる。
- それぞれ英語で立論・反論する。
- 企業のアースデー広告の例を調べ、本当の変化につながるか評価する。

1970年の最初のアースデーに約2000万人が参加し、その年のうちに環境保護庁ができたことを紹介する。今は10億人以上が参加すると主催者が言っていることと対比させ、論題を示す。

advanced の英文を読ませ、quiz で確認する。比較表に1970年と今日の情報を書きこませる。Dirty Dozen の12人のうち7人が選挙で負けたことが、なぜ大きかったのかを話し合わせる。

賛成・反対に分かれて立論を準備させる。日本の例（環境に関する法律や、地域の運動など）を1つ根拠に加えるよう求める。

賛成3分・反対3分の立論、2分の作戦時間、2分ずつの反論で討論させる。そのあと全体で自由討論にする。

企業のアースデー広告の例を各班1つ調べさせ、本当の変化につながるかを評価させる。評価の基準（具体的な数字があるか、続けて行うか、自社の活動を変えるか）を板書する。

- Every day is Earth Day. などのフレーズを練習する。
- I will ... / I won't ... で、自分ができる約束を3つ書く。
- ペアで発表し、相手に Why? と質問する。
- 1週間後に、約束を守れたか英語で報告し合う。

Every day is Earth Day. を紹介し、意味を考えさせる。アースデーは4月22日だが、毎日できることがあるという考えだと説明する。
🗣️ Earth Day is on April 22. / But some people say, Every day is Earth Day. / What does that mean? / We can do something for the Earth every day.
表現リストを使って、I will ... と I won't ... の宣言を3つ書かせる。先生が自分の宣言を先に言って見本にする。
🗣️ Here's my promise. I will bring my own bottle. / I won't leave the TV on. / Now write three promises. / Choose things you can really do.
ペアで宣言を発表させ、聞き手は Why? と質問する。理由を because で答えさせる。相手を替えて2回行う。
🗣️ Tell your partner your promises. / Partner, ask Why? / Because it saves energy. / Change partners and try again.
宣言カードを持ち帰らせ、1週間後に約束を守れたかを英語で報告し合うことを予告する。報告の型（I kept my promise. / I tried, but ...）を示す。
