楽興の時 第3番 ヘ短調

1828年の初版には「Momens musicals」と印刷されていました。でも正しいフランス語の複数形は「Moments musicaux」。まちがったフランス語の題名だったのです。今では正しい「モマン・ミュジコー」で呼ばれていますが、題名自体も出版社が付けたと考えられています。

The 1828 first edition was printed with the faulty French title 'Momens musicals'. The correct French plural is 'Moments musicaux'. Today we use the correct form, and the title itself was probably the publisher's idea, too.

第3番は1823年、曲集にのったときに「Air russe（ロシアの歌）」という題が付いていました。たしかにどこか民謡のような素朴さがありますが、ロシアの本物のメロディーを使ったわけではなく、なぜこの題になったのかははっきりしていません。

When No. 3 was printed in 1823, it was called 'Air russe', or Russian Air. It does have a simple, folk-like charm, but it does not use a real Russian folk tune, and no one knows for sure why it got that name.

シューベルトの友人たちは、彼の新しい曲を聴くために、家に集まって「シューベルティアーデ」という会を開きました。歌やピアノ、おしゃべり、ときには遊びも。シューベルトの音楽は、大きなホールより、こうした親しい集まりの中で育ったのです。

Schubert's friends held gatherings called Schubertiades to hear his new music. There were songs, piano pieces, talk and games. Much of his music grew up in these warm, private parties rather than in big concert halls.

6曲の「楽興の時」が出版されたのは1828年の夏ごろ。シューベルトはその年の11月に、31歳の若さで亡くなりました。自分の作品が本になって出るのを見られた、数少ない晩年のピアノ曲集の一つです。

The six Moments Musicaux were published around the summer of 1828. Schubert died that November, at only 31. It is one of the few late piano collections he lived to see in print.
