開票の結果、自民党は316議席を獲得しました。1986年の304議席、2009年に民主党が取った308議席を上回り、1つの政党としては戦後最多です。立憲民主党と公明党の議員らがつくった中道改革連合は49議席、日本維新の会は36議席、国民民主党は28議席でした。衆議院の定数は465なので、3分の2は310議席にあたります。

The LDP won 316 seats, more than the previous postwar records of 304 in 1986 and 308 won by the Democratic Party of Japan in 2009. The Centrist Reform Alliance won 49 seats, Nippon Ishin no Kai won 36, and the Democratic Party for the People won 28.
1つの政党が衆議院で3分の2以上の議席を持つと、参議院で否決された法案を衆議院でもう一度可決して成立させることができます。選挙の後は、国会の勢力が大きく変わったことの影響がさまざまに論じられました。中道改革連合は9月、所属議員49人のうち48人が離党して事実上解体しました（選挙費用の支払いなどのため、党そのものは残っています）。選挙のあと、第2次高市内閣が発足しました。

In September, 48 of the Centrist Reform Alliance's 49 lawmakers left the party, effectively breaking it up, although the party still exists on paper.
