ピクミンの日は11月1日　赤・青・黄の3匹を数字の1に見立てて任天堂が決めた

Nintendo has made November 1 Pikmin Day. The company announced it in a video on October 31. Game designer Shigeru Miyamoto appeared in the video.

任天堂が、11月1日を「ピクミンの日」にしました。会社は10月31日に、動画でそれを発表しました。動画には、ゲームを作る宮本茂さんが出ました。

Nintendo had a reason to choose this date. When Pikmin first appeared in 2001, there were three colors of Pikmin. They were red, blue and yellow. Nintendo thinks of each of the three Pikmin as the number 1, so the date is 11/1.

任天堂がこの日を選んだのには、理由があります。2001年にピクミンが初めて出たとき、ピクミンは3つの色でした。赤、青、黄色です。任天堂は、その3匹のピクミンを1匹ずつ数字の1に見立てました。だから日付は11月1日なのです。

Nintendo also has a new series of short movies called Hello Pikmin. The first one comes out on November 1. People can watch the movies on apps like Nintendo Today.

任天堂は『Hello! Pikmin』という、短い映像の新しいシリーズも用意しました。1本目は11月1日に公開されます。「Nintendo Today!」などのアプリで見ることができます。

Pikmin 4 for the Nintendo Switch 2 will go on sale on November 12. In this version, players can give orders to the dog Oatchi with their voice. A demo of the game will start on November 2.

Nintendo Switch 2 用の『ピクミン4』が、11月12日に発売されます。この版では、声で犬のオッチンに指示を出すことができます。ゲームの体験版は11月2日から配信されます。

Nintendo has named November 1 Pikmin Day, starting this year. The announcement came in a Pikmin Day Direct video, which the company posted on its official YouTube channel at 11 p.m. Japan time on October 31. Game designer Shigeru Miyamoto appeared in the video, and actress Fuka Koshiba joined him as a guest near the end.

The date comes from the first game in the series, released in 2001. Back then, the Pikmin came in only three colors: red, blue and yellow. Nintendo treats each of those three creatures as the number 1, which turns them into 11/1. Its official account on X explained the idea in a post just after midnight on November 1.

この日付は、2001年に出たシリーズ最初のゲームにちなんでいます。そのころ、ピクミンは赤・青・黄の3色だけでした。任天堂はその3匹を1匹ずつ数字の1に見立てました。そうすると「11/1」になります。任天堂の X の公式アカウントも、11月1日の午前0時すぎにこの考えを投稿で説明しました。

The company also introduced Hello Pikmin, a series of short movies that it will share on apps such as Nintendo Today. The first movie is set for November 1, with another due later in the month and one a month from December.

On the game side, Pikmin 4 Nintendo Switch 2 Edition will be released on November 12. It uses the microphone on the Switch 2 so that players can call out commands to the dog Oatchi. It also adds Dandori Academy, a new mode that tests how well players plan their moves. A demo becomes available on November 2, and players can carry their saved data over to the full game.

The phone game Pikmin Bloom is also getting an update this winter. It will add secret caves where players fight creatures and collect treasures.

スマホのゲーム『ピクミン ブルーム』も、この冬にアップデートがあります。原生生物と戦ってオタカラを集める「ひみつの洞窟」が加わります。
