月の形と名前を英語で：満月まであと何日？
🎯 月の満ち欠けの英語（new moon, full moon など）にふれ、十三夜の月が満月の少し前の形だと知る。
- 新月から満月までの月の絵カードを並べ、new moon, half moon, full moon と言いながら指さす。
- 十五夜（Jugoya）と十三夜（Jusanya）の月がどのカードに近いかを選ぶ。
- 黒い紙と黄色い紙で十三夜の月を作り、It's not full yet! と言って見せ合う。

月の絵カードを新月から満月の順に黒板に並べる。new moon, half moon, full moon と言いながら指さし、まねさせる。
🗣️ Look at the moon. It changes every night. / New moon. Half moon. Full moon. Repeat. / Which one is the biggest?
9月の十五夜（Jugoya）と、その約1か月後の十三夜（Jusanya）を紹介する。十三夜の月がどのカードに近いかを予想させ、満月の少し前で、片側が少し欠けていることを確認する。
🗣️ In autumn, we look at the moon two times. / Jugoya and Jusanya. / Which card is Jusanya's moon? / It's not full. One side is a little thin.
黄色い丸い紙の片側を少しだけ切らせ、黒い紙に貼って十三夜の月を作らせる。できたら友だちに見せて It's not full yet! と言わせる。
🗣️ Cut a little from one side. / Put it on the black paper. / Show your friend. Say, It's not full yet!
十三夜には栗や豆を供えるので Chestnut Moon / Bean Moon とも呼ばれることを伝える。十五夜を見たら十三夜も見ようと、昔の人が言っていたことも紹介する。

🎯 日本と英語圏の月の呼び名を比べ、名前に込められた暮らしや季節感を英語で説明する。
- Harvest Moon, Hunter's Moon と、十五夜（芋名月）・十三夜（栗名月・豆名月）の名前を示す。
- グループで「なぜその名前になったか」を英語で推測し、The ___ Moon is named after ___ because ___. の文を作る。
- 自分たちの町の季節にあった新しい月の名前を考え、英語で発表する。

英語ページの会話を聞かせ、イギリスから来たルーシーが The full moon after the Harvest Moon is called the Hunter's Moon. と言っている部分を確認する。十三夜も英語圏でも「秋の2番目の月」に名前があることに気づかせる。

名前カードを黒板に貼り、それぞれがいつの月かを確認する。基本セット p.1 の第4段落を読ませ、十三夜が栗や豆を供えることから Chestnut Moon / Bean Moon と呼ばれることを本文で確かめる。

グループで、Harvest Moon と Hunter's Moon がなぜその名前になったかを英語で推測させる。日本の名前と同じく、その季節の暮らしから考えるよう伝える。The ___ Moon is named after ___ because ___. の文を作らせる。英語の名前の由来は推測でよく、正解を決めつけないことを伝える。

自分たちの町の季節にあった新しい月の名前を考えさせ、英語で発表させる。町の食べ物や行事のほか、本文第3段落の「十三夜の月は満月にならない」という点をヒントにしてもよいと伝える。
