- 答えは「結論→理由→具体例→結論」の4文で組み立てる
- 最初の一文は質問の言葉をそのまま使って言い切る
- 聞き取れない時は黙らず Could you repeat that? と言う
中身を問う質問に効く「4文の型」
英語面接は 1つの答えを4文で：①結論（質問の語を使って言い切る）→②理由（because 〜）→③具体例（For example, 〜。数字・固有名詞を入れる）→④結論の言い直し＋大学・将来につなぐ。長く話すより、この形を崩さない方が伝わる。※Are you nervous? のような軽い質問は1〜2文でよい。

最初の数問は第一印象に影響しやすい。短く・明るく・具体的に
- Could you briefly introduce yourself?★★★簡単に自己紹介をしてください。名前→学校→自分を表す一言→それを示す具体例。30秒で止めるMy name is Aoi Tanaka, and I'm a third-year student at Minami High School.
- How would you describe yourself in three words?★★★自分を3語で表すと？形容詞3つ→そのうち1つに具体例。curious / patient / organized などI'd say I'm curious, patient, and organized.
- What are your strengths?★★★あなたの長所は何ですか。長所1つに絞り、それが出た場面を1つ話すMy greatest strength is that I keep trying until I find a solution.
- What is your weakness?★★★あなたの短所は何ですか。短所→今している工夫の順。工夫で終わると前向きに聞こえるI sometimes take on too much, so now I make a weekly plan.
- What do you do in your free time?★★★自由な時間には何をしますか。My hobby is 〜 より I like 〜ing / I usually 〜 が自然I usually read science magazines or go jogging by the river.
- What book has influenced you the most?★★★最も影響を受けた本は？書名→内容を一文→自分がどう変わったか。あらすじを長く語らないThe book that influenced me the most is a biography of a doctor who worked in Africa.
- Who do you respect the most, and why?★★★最も尊敬する人とその理由は？身近な人でよい。その人の「行動」を1つ具体的にI respect my grandmother because she started learning English at seventy.
- How would your friends describe you?★★★友達はあなたをどんな人だと言いますか。My friends often say I'm 〜. 他人の目線なので長所を言いやすいMy friends often say I'm a good listener.
- What are you most proud of?★★★いちばん誇りに思うことは？結果より過程を。I'm proud that I 〜 で始めるI'm proud that I kept a daily English diary for two years.

「なぜこの大学か」に、ほかの大学では言えない理由を1つ
- Why do you want to study at this university?★★★なぜ本学で学びたいのですか。学びたいこと→この大学にしかない授業・制度・環境→将来。パンフの丸写しは避けるI want to study here because your program lets students do fieldwork from the first year.
- Why did you choose this department?★★★なぜこの学部・学科を選んだのですか。きっかけの体験を1つ。学部は faculty / department / school など大学の英語名に合わせるI chose this department because I want to understand how cities can reduce waste.
- What do you want to study at university?★★★大学で何を学びたいですか。分野名だけで終わらず、問いの形で言う（how / why 〜）I'd like to study how technology can support elderly people living alone.
- When did you become interested in this field?★★★いつこの分野に興味を持ちましたか。時期＋出来事。I became interested in it when I 〜.I became interested in it when I helped my grandfather use a tablet.
- What do you know about our university?★★★本学について何を知っていますか。事実を1つ→それが自分に合う理由。調べた量を見せる質問I know that your university has exchange programs with over thirty countries.
- Have you ever visited our campus?★★★本学のキャンパスに来たことはありますか。見た物・話した人を具体的に。「オープンキャンパス」は open house / campus visit が自然Yes, I joined a campus tour last summer and talked with some students.
- Which class at our university are you most interested in?★★★本学のどの授業に最も興味がありますか。授業名は事前に英語で言えるようにしておくI'm most interested in the seminar on global health.
- Are you applying to any other universities?★★★他の大学も受けていますか。うそは不要。正直に答え、ここが第一志望である理由を添えるYes, but this university is my first choice because of its small classes.
- How can you contribute to our university?★★★本学にどう貢献できますか。自分の経験・強み→大学のどこで生かすか（授業・サークル・留学生支援など）I can help international students, because I was a buddy for exchange students in high school.
- What makes you different from other applicants?★★★他の受験生とあなたの違いは？自分だけの経験を1つ。I'm hardworking など誰でも言える語で終わらないWhat makes me different is that I've run a recycling project with local shops.

経験は「何をしたか」より「何を学んだか」で点になる

将来の話は「大学で学ぶこと」とつながって初めて説得力が出る
- What do you want to do in the future?★★★将来何をしたいですか。職業名＋その仕事で解決したいこと。決まっていなければ分野で答えてよいIn the future, I want to work as a public health nurse in rural areas.
- What do you want to do after graduating?★★★卒業後は何をしたいですか。after graduating (from university) 。進路＋最初の一歩After graduating, I'd like to work for a company that develops medical devices.
- Where do you see yourself in ten years?★★★10年後、自分はどうなっていると思いますか。I see myself 〜ing. 役職より「何をしているか」を描くIn ten years, I see myself designing apps that help people with disabilities.

正解はない。立場→理由2つ→反対側への配慮で「考える力」を見せる

- What do you think about using AI in education?★★★教育でAIを使うことをどう思いますか。賛否＋条件（as long as 〜）。一方的に言い切らないI think AI can be a great tool, as long as students still think for themselves.
- Should students be allowed to use smartphones at school?★★★学校でスマホの使用を認めるべきですか。Yes/No を最初に。理由は「学習」と「安全」など別の角度から2つYes, I think so, but only during breaks and for learning.
- What is the biggest problem facing Japan today?★★★今の日本の最大の問題は何ですか。問題→影響→自分にできること。In my opinion, 〜.In my opinion, the biggest problem is the shrinking working population.

6ウォームアップと最後の質問6
最初の雑談と最後の一言は、準備した人だけが差をつけられる
- How did you get here today?★★★今日はどうやって来ましたか。緊張をほぐす雑談。一文＋一言で返す（Yes/No だけで終えない）I came by train. It took about an hour, so I read on the way.

- 1答えの材料を日本語で書き出す経験・強み・志望理由・将来を、それぞれ具体例1つと数字1つで。英文はその後に作る。
- 2最初の一文だけ英語で固める全文暗記ではなく、各質問の書き出しの一文を覚える。残りは4文の型で話す練習をする。
