日記界隈とは？手書きの日記をSNSで見せる人たち、日付だけの文庫本は18万部

Some people in Japan write diaries by hand and share the pages on social media. In Japanese, this group is called nikki kaiwai, or the diary crowd.

日本では、日記を手で書いて、そのページをSNSで見せる人たちがいます。日本語では、この人たちを「日記界隈」とよびます。

They take photos or videos of their notebooks. Then they post them on Instagram and TikTok. Some writers do not show their faces or their real names. One diary post has been viewed about 18 million times.

ノートの写真や動画をとります。そして、InstagramやTikTokにのせます。顔や本当の名前を出さない人もいます。ある日記の投稿は、約1800万回見られました。

A small book called My Book is popular with this group. It has only dates and days of the week inside. Its publisher, Shinchosha, printed more than 180,000 copies of the 2026 edition.

この人たちに人気なのが、『マイブック』という小さな本です。中には、日付と曜日しか書いてありません。出している新潮社は、2026年版を18万部以上刷りました。

About 30 percent of the buyers are in their 20s or younger. The 2027 edition went on sale on September 28.

買う人の約3割は、20代かそれより若い人です。2027年版は、9月28日に発売されました。

Many people in Japan are posting pages from their handwritten diaries on social media. The group is known as nikki kaiwai, which roughly means the diary crowd. In September, the Japanese hashtag for nikki kaiwai had more than 13,000 posts on Instagram.

日本でたくさんの人が、手書きの日記のページをSNSにのせています。この人たちは「日記界隈」とよばれ、だいたい「日記の仲間たち」という意味です。9月の時点で、Instagramの「#日記界隈」の投稿は1万3000件をこえていました。

Traditionally, a diary is something people keep to themselves. The publisher Shinchosha said many diary writers in Generation Z do the opposite and share their daily lives online. This style is also called a lifelog.

これまで日記は、自分だけのものにしておくものでした。出版社の新潮社は、Z世代の日記を書く人の多くはその逆で、毎日のことをネットで見せていると説明しています。このやり方は「ライフログ」ともよばれます。

The posts are photos or videos of notebook pages. Business Insider Japan reported that one diary post on Instagram had been viewed about 18 million times. The writers it interviewed post without showing their faces or real names, and one of them rewrites entries before posting to protect people's privacy.

投稿は、ノートのページの写真か動画です。ビジネスインサイダー・ジャパンは、Instagramのある日記の投稿が約1800万回見られたと伝えました。取材を受けた人たちは顔も本名も出さずに投稿していて、そのうちの1人は、人のプライバシーを守るために、日記を書き直してからのせています。

The trend has helped sales of My Book, a paperback that contains nothing but dates and days of the week. First published in 1999, it has had more than 3 million copies printed in total. Shinchosha printed more than 180,000 copies of the 2026 edition, the first time in 24 years that a single year's edition passed 150,000.

この動きは、日付と曜日のほかには何も書かれていない文庫本『マイブック』の売れ行きを後押ししました。1999年に初めて出版され、これまでに合わせて300万部以上が刷られています。新潮社は2026年版を18万部以上刷りました。1年分の版が15万部をこえたのは24年ぶりです。

Ten weeks after the 2026 edition came out, sales to women in their 20s were 2.6 times those of the year before. About 30 percent of the 2026 edition's buyers are in their 20s or younger. The 2027 edition went on sale on September 28 for 572 yen.

2026年版が出て10週の時点で、20代の女性への売れ行きは前の年の2.6倍でした。2026年版を買った人の約3割が、20代かそれより若い人です。2027年版は9月28日に572円で発売されました。
