CEATEC, an annual exhibition of digital technology, opened at Makuhari Messe in Chiba on October 13. The four-day event, the 27th edition of the show, runs until October 16 and is free to enter for anyone who registers in advance. It is organized by the Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association (JEITA).
毎年開かれるデジタル技術の展示会CEATECが、10月13日に千葉の幕張メッセで開幕しました。27回目となる4日間のこの催しは10月16日まで開かれ、事前に登録すればだれでも無料で入場できます。主催は電子情報技術産業協会（JEITA）です。
NHK reported that the show features a large number of exhibits related to physical AI. Unlike chatbots, which work with words on a screen, physical AI makes its own decisions and controls robots and other machines in the real world. Companies are also displaying ways to defend against cyberattacks, which have hit a number of Japanese companies recently.

According to the organizers, 821 companies and organizations are taking part, up from 810 last year. Of these, 338 are first-time exhibitors. Startups, universities and research institutions number 246, the highest figure since the organizers began counting them in 2014. There are also 194 exhibitors from 31 countries and regions outside Japan, compared with 156 from 29 last year.

This year's theme is transformation, with a focus on how companies, industries and society are changing. The show is being held together with Japan Mobility Show Bizweek.
