1CEATEC, a big technology show, opened in Chiba on October 13. It is being held at Makuhari Messe until October 16. Entry is free, but visitors must sign up first.

2This year, 821 companies and groups are showing their products and ideas. That is 11 more than last year. A record 246 of them are new small companies, universities and research groups.

3Many booths show physical AI. With physical AI, a robot or machine decides what to do by itself. Then it moves in the real world.

4The show also has an area for students called CEATEC for Students. The organizers hope that more than 110,000 people will visit over the four days.

全文訳

1技術の大きな展示会CEATECが、10月13日に千葉で始まりました。会場は幕張メッセで、10月16日まで開かれます。入場は無料ですが、事前の登録が必要です。

2今年は821の会社や団体が、製品やアイデアを展示しています。去年より11多い数です。そのうち、新しい小さな会社や大学、研究機関は、過去最多の246です。

3多くのブースで、フィジカルAIが紹介されています。フィジカルAIでは、ロボットや機械が、何をするかを自分で決めます。そして、現実の世界で動きます。

4会場には、「CEATEC for Students」という学生向けのエリアもあります。主催者は、4日間で11万人以上が来場することを目標にしています。

文法ポイント：進行形の受け身（is being + 過去分詞）

「いま～されているところだ」は be動詞 + being + 過去分詞で表す。本文の It is being held at Makuhari Messe は「幕張メッセでいま開かれている」という意味。
