Egypt fully opened a giant new museum near the Pyramids of Giza on November 1, 2025. Its name is the Grand Egyptian Museum. It cost about one billion dollars to build.

The museum shows treasures from King Tutankhamun's tomb. About 5,000 objects from the tomb are now in one place. They are shown together for the first time since the tomb was found in 1922.

The museum's exhibition space is bigger than three soccer fields. Visitors can also see a huge statue of King Ramesses II. The statue is about 3,200 years old.

Japan helped Egypt build the museum. Japan lent money for the building and sent about 90 experts. They worked with Egyptian experts to repair and move old treasures.

Egypt hopes the museum will bring more tourists to the country. In 2024, a record 15.7 million tourists visited Egypt.
