Yoshinobu Yamamoto helped the Los Angeles Dodgers win the World Series on November 1, 2025. He pitched in Game 7, just one day after he threw 96 pitches in Game 6.

The Dodgers played the Toronto Blue Jays in the World Series. The team that wins four games first becomes the champion. Yamamoto started Game 2 and Game 6, and he won both games.

Game 7 was very close, so it went into extra innings. Yamamoto did not give up a run in the game. The Dodgers won 5-4 in the 11th inning.

Yamamoto won three games in the series and was named MVP. He is the first Japanese pitcher to win this award. The Dodgers became champions for the second year in a row. The last team to do that was the New York Yankees in 2000.
