A library in Australia got back a book about 150 years late. The book is called The Antiquities of Athens. It was printed in 1858.

A library book has been returned to a public library in Australia roughly 150 years after it was borrowed. The book, The Antiquities of Athens, was published in 1858 and describes ancient Greek buildings. It came back to Kiama Library, in the seaside town of Kiama in New South Wales, in late July 2026.

A local man discovered the book during renovations at a house. It was inside a tea crate that had been sealed into a fireplace with bricks. His family then took it back to the library.
