A dog who went missing five years ago has returned to his family in the United States. The dog, named Chong, ran away from his home in Lincoln, Nebraska, in 2021. His family looked for him for years.

In July 2026, Chong was found outside a truck stop in Indiana. That is about 1,030 kilometers from his home. Nobody knows how he got there.

A dog that disappeared from its home in Nebraska in 2021 has been reunited with its family after turning up about 1,030 kilometers away in Indiana. The dog, Chong, escaped from his owner's house in the city of Lincoln. His owner told local TV station KOLN that she never stopped searching. She often drove around her old neighborhood, checking whether anyone was walking him.

In July 2026, Chong was found outside a truck stop in Pittsboro, Indiana. He was taken to the Hendricks County Animal Shelter, where workers scanned him for a microchip. A microchip is a tiny device, about the size of a grain of rice, placed under a pet's skin. When it is scanned, it shows a number linked to the owner's contact details.
