ガチャガチャが過去最高の約1960億円に　10代にも人気、専門店は900店超

Capsule toy sales in Japan hit a record high in the 2025 business year. Capsule toys are small toys that come out of a machine in a plastic ball.

日本のカプセルトイの売り上げが、2025年度に過去最高になりました。カプセルトイは、機械からプラスチックのボールに入って出てくる小さなおもちゃです。

A group of capsule toy companies said the market was worth about 196 billion yen. That is 39 percent more than the year before. There are now more than 900 shops that sell only capsule toys.

カプセルトイの会社の団体は、市場の大きさが約1960億円になったと発表しました。これは前の年より39％多い金額です。いまでは、カプセルトイだけを売る店が900店以上あります。

Capsule toys are a trend among teenagers too. In a WEGO survey, they made the top three for two groups of young people. The capsule toy group said toys with characters from the Heisei era were popular.

カプセルトイは、10代のあいだでも流行しています。ウィゴーの調査では、若者の2つのグループで、トップ3に入りました。カプセルトイの団体によると、平成のキャラクターのおもちゃが人気でした。

Prices are going up because costs are higher. Now about half of the toys cost 400 or 500 yen. The group expects more than 100 new shops to open in 2026.

材料などの費用が高くなったため、値段は上がっています。いまでは、おもちゃの約半分が400円か500円です。団体は、2026年に新しい店が100店以上できると見ています。

Japan's capsule toy market grew 39 percent to a record of about 196 billion yen in the 2025 business year, the Japan Capsule Toy Association said. The figure is based on interviews with 41 makers and shows the value of the toys they shipped. The previous survey put the market at 141 billion yen.

日本カプセルトイ協会は、2025年度のカプセルトイの市場が39％ふえ、過去最高の約1960億円になったと発表しました。この数字はメーカー41社への聞き取りにもとづくもので、メーカーが出荷したおもちゃの金額を表しています。前回の調査では、市場は1410億円でした。

Capsule toys are small items sold from coin-operated machines, usually inside plastic balls. The association estimated that about 550 million capsules are sold a year, or four to five for every person in Japan. Shops filled with hundreds of machines have spread quickly. There were more than 900 such shops as of January 31, an increase of over 200 from a year earlier.

カプセルトイは、お金を入れて回す機械で売られる小さな商品で、ふつうはプラスチックのボールに入っています。協会の推計では、1年に約5億5000万個が売れていて、日本人1人あたり4〜5個にあたります。何百台もの機械が並ぶ店が、急速に広がっています。1月31日の時点で、こうした店は900店を超え、1年前より200店以上ふえました。

The toys also appear in teen trend rankings. In a WEGO survey that drew 57,808 responses on Instagram in May, capsule toys ranked second among fans of gyaru fashion and third among dance fans. AMF's list of 50 nominated buzzwords for junior high and high school girls also included a line of small capsule toy charms.

カプセルトイは、10代のトレンドランキングにも登場しています。5月にインスタグラムで5万7808件の回答を集めたウィゴーの調査では、ギャルのファッションが好きなグループで2位、ダンス好きのグループで3位でした。AMFが発表した女子中高生の流行語の候補50語にも、カプセルトイの小さなアクセサリーのシリーズが入りました。

The association said toys based on Heisei-era characters, such as Sanrio characters and Tamagotchi, sold well. Goods that fans use to support their favorite stars and characters also did well. The main buyers are women in their 20s and 30s, but people of all ages and genders are now buying them.

協会によると、サンリオのキャラクターやたまごっちなど、平成のキャラクターのおもちゃがよく売れました。好きなスターやキャラクターを応援する「推し活」のグッズも好調でした。おもな買い手は20代と30代の女性ですが、いまではあらゆる年代・性別の人が買っています。

Prices have risen because of the weak yen and higher costs for materials and labor. Items priced at 400 or 500 yen made up 48.1 percent of the market. In September, the business news site Business+IT reported that some shops had become so crowded that a few stopped sales for safety reasons. The association expects more than 100 new shops to open in 2026.
