アリクイがバナナの木で脱走！台北市立動物園で1週間ぶりに発見

An anteater escaped from Taipei Zoo in Taiwan and was found about a week later. Her name is Blackie. She is a lesser anteater and is more than 10 years old.

台湾の台北市立動物園からアリクイが逃げ出し、約1週間後に見つかりました。アリクイの名前はヘイニウ（黒妞）です。コアリクイという種類で、年は10歳をこえています。

Zookeepers found that Blackie was missing on the morning of May 19, 2026. Videos from the zoo's cameras gave them a clue. Blackie probably climbed a banana plant in her area. The plant broke, and she got onto a rock and went out.

飼育員は2026年5月19日の朝、ヘイニウがいなくなっていることに気づきました。動物園のカメラの映像が手がかりになりました。ヘイニウはおそらく、すみかにあったバナナの木に登ったのです。木が折れて、彼女は岩の上に移り、外へ出ていきました。

Zoo workers searched for her many times. They also used dogs, cameras, and traps. On the seventh day, a worker saw Blackie walking across a road inside the zoo.

動物園の職員は何度もさがしました。犬やカメラ、わなも使いました。7日目、職員の1人が、動物園の中の道をヘイニウが横切っているのを見つけました。

Blackie did not want to be caught. She scratched a worker's hand. Animal doctors said she needed more water but had no injuries.

ヘイニウはつかまりたくありませんでした。彼女は職員の手を引っかきました。獣医さんによると、体の水分が少し足りなかったものの、けがはありませんでした。

A lesser anteater that slipped out of her enclosure at Taipei Zoo has been found safe after a week on the loose. The female, named Blackie, is more than 10 years old. Taiwan News reported that wild lesser anteaters usually live about nine to 10 years, so she is elderly for her species.

台北市立動物園の飼育場から抜け出したコアリクイが、1週間の逃走の末、無事に見つかりました。ヘイニウという名のこのメスは、10歳をこえています。台湾の報道によると、野生のコアリクイの寿命はふつう9〜10年なので、彼女はこの種としては高齢です。

Keepers discovered she was missing from the tropical rainforest area at about 9 a.m. on May 19, 2026. After checking security footage, the zoo said she had probably climbed a banana plant. When the plant broke, she reached a nearby artificial rock and used it to leave her enclosure. The zoo said spring growth had made the plants especially thick, and that trees and plants can form paths through the air for escaping animals.

飼育員は2026年5月19日の午前9時ごろ、熱帯雨林エリアから彼女がいなくなっていることに気づきました。防犯カメラの映像を確認した動物園は、彼女がバナナの木に登った可能性が高いと発表しました。木が折れたとき、彼女は近くの人工の岩に移り、そこから飼育場を出たとみられます。動物園は、春になって植物が特によく茂っていたことと、木や植物が、逃げる動物にとって空中の通り道になりうることを説明しました。

Staff carried out 65 searches of the surrounding areas and set up six extra automatic cameras and four traps. Search dogs picked up her scent near the giant panda house, but the cameras recorded only other wild animals. Because lesser anteaters are active at night, the zoo believed she was hiding in bushes during the day.

職員は周辺を65回捜索し、自動カメラを6台、わなを4つ追加で設置しました。捜索犬はジャイアントパンダ館の近くで彼女のにおいをかぎつけましたが、カメラに映ったのはほかの野生動物だけでした。コアリクイは夜に活動するため、動物園は彼女が昼間は茂みにかくれていると考えていました。

On the seventh day, an employee driving the zoo's shuttle route saw Blackie crossing a service road that is closed to the public. The employee followed her until other staff arrived to help. Blackie struggled during the capture and scratched one worker's hand.

7日目、園内の送迎ルートを運転していた職員が、一般の人が入れない管理用の道をヘイニウが横切るのを見つけました。その職員は、ほかの職員が助けに来るまで彼女のあとを追いました。ヘイニウはつかまえられるときに暴れ、職員1人の手を引っかきました。

Veterinarians found that she was mildly dehydrated after several days without food. However, the zoo said her condition was stable and she had no visible injuries. She will stay at the zoo's veterinary clinic for more health checks.

獣医は、数日間えさを食べていなかったため、軽い脱水状態になっていることを確認しました。ただし動物園によると、容体は安定していて、目に見えるけがはありませんでした。ヘイニウは、さらに健康チェックを受けるため、動物園の動物病院にとどまる予定です。
