ヒト型ロボットがハーフマラソンで人間の世界記録より速くゴール！北京のレース

A humanoid robot ran a half marathon in Beijing, China, on April 19, 2026. It finished the race in 50 minutes and 26 seconds. That was faster than the human world record.

A half marathon is about 21 kilometers long. The world record for human runners is about 57 minutes. So the robot beat the best human time by several minutes.

This race was held for the first time in 2025. That year, the winning robot needed 2 hours and 40 minutes. This year, the winner was about three times faster. It was designed like a top runner, with legs about 95 centimeters long.

Some robots had problems in the race. One robot fell down at the start line. Another robot hit a barrier.

レースでうまくいかなかったロボットもいました。スタートラインで転んだロボットがいました。さくにぶつかったロボットもいました。

Only about 40 percent of the robots ran by themselves. People used remote controls to move the other robots. The winning robot ran by itself, without a remote control.

自分の力だけで走ったロボットは、全体の約4割だけでした。ほかのロボットは、人がリモコンで動かしていました。優勝したロボットは、リモコンを使わずに自分で走りました。

The winning robot was built by a Chinese smartphone maker. Two other robots from the same company finished in about 51 and 53 minutes. An engineer on the team said the robot was modeled on elite runners and has legs about 95 centimeters long. He said the robot also has a liquid-cooling system.

The first robot to cross the finish line was not the champion. A remote-controlled robot from the same company finished in 48 minutes and 19 seconds. However, the organizers used a scoring system that gave extra weight to robots running on their own. The organizers said about 40 percent of the robots ran the course without remote control.

最初にゴールラインを越えたロボットは、優勝ロボットではありませんでした。同じ会社の、リモコンで操作するロボットが48分19秒でゴールしていたのです。しかし主催者は、自分の力で走るロボットを重く評価する採点方法を使っていました。主催者によると、リモコンなしでコースを走ったロボットは全体の約4割でした。

Several robots had trouble during the race. One robot fell at the start line, and another crashed into a barrier. Security staff and other people carried one robot off the course on a stretcher. China's five-year plan for 2026 to 2030 calls for faster development of humanoid robots.

レース中にトラブルが起きたロボットもいくつかありました。スタートラインで倒れたロボットや、さくに衝突したロボットがいました。警備員たちが、1台のロボットを担架にのせてコースの外へ運び出しました。中国の2026〜2030年の5か年計画は、ヒト型ロボットの開発を急ぐ方針をかかげています。
