- 1言い過ぎ(範囲)some・many・most を all・every・no one に広げる。 本文 Many teenagers use social media daily. All teenagers use social media daily.→ many が all に。
He sometimes walks to school. He usually walks to school.→ ときどき が ふだん に
- 3断定化may・might・suggest・seem の控えめな言い方を、will・prove・show の断定にする。 The study suggests that music may improve focus. The study proves that music improves focus.→ 示唆・可能性 が 証明・断定 に
- 4唯一化one of・mainly・partly を the only・solely・entirely にする。 Cost is one of the reasons people avoid the gym. Cost is the only reason people avoid the gym.→ 理由の1つ が 唯一の理由 に
Sales rose slightly last year. Sales rose dramatically last year.→ わずかに が 劇的に
The coach encouraged the new player. The new player encouraged the coach.→ 励ました人と励まされた人が逆
according to・some argue の主語を確認。本文 Some critics claim the festival is a waste of money. The author thinks the festival is a waste of money.→ 批判者の意見 が 筆者の意見 に
Lack of sleep can result in poor concentration. Poor concentration can result in lack of sleep.→ 睡眠不足→集中力低下 の矢印が逆
Students who eat breakfast tend to get higher grades.
Trains are more punctual than buses in this city. Buses are more punctual than trains in this city.→ 比較の向きが逆
Japan's birth rate is lower than it was in 1990. Japan's birth rate is lower than that of other countries.→ 過去との比較 が 他国との比較 に
used to・once・no longer は「今は違う」の印。本文 The town used to be famous for silk. The town is famous for silk.→ 昔の話 を 今の事実 に
- 2予定・予測を事実にwill・plan to・is expected to・hope to を、すでに起きたこととして書く。 The city plans to open a new library next year. The city has opened a new library.→ 計画 が 完了した事実 に
About 30% of the participants were over 60. About 60% of the participants were over 30.→ 2つの数字を入れ替えた
- 4条件の脱落本文の if・unless・only when・in some cases などの条件を消して、いつでも成り立つ話にする。本文 Online classes work well if students are motivated. Online classes work well for students.→ 「やる気があれば」という条件が消えた
Mia practiced the piano every day for ten years.
- 3否定の見落とし(逆)hardly・few・little・fail to・rather than・far from を読み落とすと逆の意味を選ぶ。 Few people attended the meeting. Many people attended the meeting.→ few=ほとんどいない。a few とは別
because・and・to の後まで読む。本文 She moved to Osaka. ……(別の段落)She started a café. She moved to Osaka to start a café.→ 2つの事実を因果でつないだ
A The new park is popular with families. / 記事B Teenagers rarely visit the park. The park is popular with people of all ages.→ Aとは合うが、Bと矛盾する

| all / every / no one | some / many / most |
| always / never | often / sometimes / rarely |
| only / solely / entirely | mainly / partly / one of |
