時事英語は「動詞とセット」で覚えると強い
ニュースの語は単語だけ覚えても使えない。inflation なら「インフレ」で終わらせず、curb inflation（インフレを抑える） のように動詞とセットで覚える。長文では言い換え（inflation → rising prices）、英作文では動詞の選び方（impose sanctions／issue an order）で差がつく。下の表の「一言」は、その語がどんな文脈・相方の語で出るかのメモだ。
