セクボとは？モー娘。20年前のMVが「冷凍チャーハン」ミームに

Idol groups in Japan are copying a scene from a music video made about 20 years ago. The video is for a 2006 song by Morning Musume. Fans call the song "Sekubo" for short.

日本のアイドルグループが、20年ほど前に作られたミュージックビデオの場面をまねしています。それは、モーニング娘。の2006年の曲のビデオです。ファンはこの曲を短く「セクボ」とよんでいます。

At the start of the video, the members walk past the camera one by one. Each member looks into the camera as she passes. On October 1, someone wrote about the scene on X. The post said the members looked like people watching frozen fried rice in a microwave. The post spread quickly.

ビデオの最初で、メンバーが1人ずつカメラの前を通りすぎます。メンバーはみんな、通りすぎるときにカメラをのぞきこみます。10月1日、ある人がXにこの場面のことを書きました。その投稿は「メンバーが、電子レンジの冷凍チャーハンを見ている人たちみたい」というものでした。その投稿は、あっというまに広まりました。

Two days later, the members of Morning Musume today copied the scene on TikTok. On October 6, AKB48 shared its own version. Other groups, such as INI and OCHA NORMA, joined in, too.

2日後、いまのモーニング娘。のメンバーが、TikTokでその場面をまねしました。10月6日には、AKB48が自分たちの版を公開しました。INIやOCHA NORMAなど、ほかのグループも加わりました。

In INI's video, the camera plays the fried rice. OCHA NORMA's video starts with someone opening the door of a microwave. Under the old video on YouTube, many new fans have left comments about fried rice.

INIのビデオでは、カメラがチャーハンの役です。OCHA NORMAのビデオは、だれかが電子レンジのドアを開けるところから始まります。YouTubeの昔のビデオの下には、新しいファンがチャーハンについてのコメントをたくさん書きこんでいます。

A scene from a music video released about 20 years ago has become a popular meme among Japanese idol groups this month. The video belongs to "SEXY BOY: Soyokaze ni Yorisotte," a 2006 single by Morning Musume, which fans shorten to "Sekubo."

20年ほど前に公開されたミュージックビデオの1場面が、今月、日本のアイドルグループのあいだで人気のミームになっています。それはモーニング娘。の2006年のシングル「SEXY BOY～そよ風に寄り添って～」のビデオで、ファンはこの曲を略して「セクボ」とよんでいます。

In the opening seconds, the members pass in front of the camera one after another, each leaning in to peer into the lens. On October 1, a user on X compared the scene to someone standing outside a microwave and watching frozen fried rice heat up. The post was widely shared, and many people went back to the original video to see the scene for themselves.

ビデオの最初の数秒で、メンバーが次々にカメラの前を通り、1人ずつ身を乗り出してレンズをのぞきこみます。10月1日、Xのあるユーザーが、この場面を「電子レンジの外に立って、冷凍チャーハンが温まるのを見ている人」にたとえました。その投稿は大きく広まり、多くの人がその場面を自分の目で確かめようと、元のビデオを見に行きました。

The idols noticed quickly. On October 3, the current members, now known as Morning Musume '26, recreated the moves on the group's official TikTok account. AKB48 followed on October 6 with its own version on X and TikTok. By October 12, the boy band INI and the groups CUTIE STREET and OCHA NORMA had also posted their takes, the music news site THE FIRST TIMES reported.

アイドルたちもすぐに気づきました。10月3日、いまのメンバー（モーニング娘。'26）が、グループの公式TikTokでその動きを再現しました。続いて10月6日には、AKB48が自分たちの版をXとTikTokで公開しました。音楽ニュースサイトのTHE FIRST TIMESによると、10月12日までに男性グループのINIや、CUTIE STREET、OCHA NORMAも、それぞれの版を投稿していました。

Each group added its own twist. INI filmed its clip from the point of view of the fried rice. OCHA NORMA's video begins with a microwave door opening, after which the members stare inside as they walk by. In AKB48's version, the members focus on the camera so hard that some of them bump into each other at the end.

どのグループも、自分たちなりのひと工夫を加えました。INIは、チャーハンの目線で動画をとりました。OCHA NORMAの動画は電子レンジのドアが開くところから始まり、そのあとメンバーが通りすぎながら中をじっと見つめます。AKB48の版では、メンバーがカメラに集中しすぎて、最後に何人かがぶつかってしまいます。

The meme has also brought new attention to the original song. Under the music video on YouTube, many viewers have left comments saying they found it because of the fried rice joke. Last year, Juice=Juice, a group from the same idol family as Morning Musume, also broke through after one of its songs spread on social media.

このミームは、元の曲にも新しい注目を集めています。YouTubeのミュージックビデオの下には、チャーハンのネタがきっかけで見つけたというコメントがたくさん書きこまれています。去年は、同じハロー！プロジェクトのグループであるJuice=Juiceも、曲がSNSで広まったことをきっかけにブレイクしました。
