ラブブ人気でポップマートの売上が約3倍に！世界的ブームの理由

A toy company in China said its sales nearly tripled in 2025. The company is called Pop Mart. Its most popular character is Labubu, a furry monster with big ears and a naughty smile.

中国のおもちゃ会社が、2025年の売上がほぼ3倍になったと発表しました。その会社の名前はポップマートです。いちばん人気のキャラクターは、大きな耳といたずらっぽい笑顔の、ふわふわのモンスター「ラブブ」です。

Pop Mart shared the news in April 2026. Its sales in 2025 were more than 5 billion dollars. Labubu was a big reason for this growth.

ポップマートは2026年4月にこのニュースを発表しました。2025年の売上は50億ドルを超えました。ラブブは、この成長の大きな理由でした。

Many Labubu dolls are sold in blind boxes. Buyers cannot see which doll is inside until they open the box. Some buyers keep buying boxes to find a rare doll. The dolls became even more popular after a famous K-pop singer was seen with one.

ラブブの人形の多くは「ブラインドボックス」で売られています。買った人は、箱を開けるまでどの人形が入っているかわかりません。めずらしい人形を当てようと、箱を買い続ける人もいます。有名なK-POP歌手がラブブを持っている姿が見られてから、人気はさらに高まりました。

In June 2025, a giant Labubu was sold at an auction in Beijing. It was 131 centimeters tall, about the height of an eight-year-old child. It sold for more than 150,000 dollars. Pop Mart is now making a Labubu movie with Sony Pictures.

2025年6月には、北京のオークションで巨大なラブブが売られました。高さは131センチで、8歳の子どもと同じくらいでした。15万ドル以上の値段で売れました。ポップマートはいま、ソニー・ピクチャーズとラブブの映画をつくっています。

Pop Mart, the Chinese toy company behind the Labubu dolls, said its revenue nearly tripled in 2025. The company reported the results in April 2026. Revenue rose 185 percent to about 37 billion yuan, or around 5.4 billion dollars. Profit grew about fourfold to nearly 12.8 billion yuan.

ラブブの人形で知られる中国のおもちゃ会社ポップマートは、2025年の売上高がほぼ3倍になったと発表しました。同社は2026年4月にこの決算を発表しました。売上高は185％増え、約370億元（約54億ドル）になりました。利益は約4倍の、128億元近くまで増えました。

Labubu is a furry monster with pointed ears and a row of sharp teeth. Kasing Lung, an artist and illustrator from Hong Kong, created the character about ten years ago. In 2019, Lung agreed to let Pop Mart sell Labubu as collectible figures. Interest grew quickly after a well-known K-pop singer was seen with one, and other celebrities followed.

ラブブは、とがった耳とギザギザの歯をもつ、ふわふわのモンスターです。香港出身のアーティストでイラストレーターのカシン・ロンが、約10年前にこのキャラクターを生み出しました。2019年、ロンはポップマートがラブブをコレクション用フィギュアとして販売することに同意しました。有名なK-POP歌手がラブブを持っている姿が見られると人気が一気に高まり、ほかの有名人も続きました。

Many Labubu figures are sold in blind boxes. A blind box is a sealed package, so buyers do not know which design is inside. In Pop Mart stores, a Labubu blind box starts at around 50 yuan. Some buyers open many boxes in the hope of finding a rare design.

ラブブのフィギュアの多くは、ブラインドボックスで売られています。ブラインドボックスは封をされた箱なので、買う人はどのデザインが入っているかわかりません。ポップマートの店では、ラブブのブラインドボックスは約50元からです。めずらしいデザインを当てようと、たくさんの箱を開ける人もいます。

Labubu has also become a high-priced collector's item. In June 2025, Yongle International Auction in Beijing held the first auction of Labubu items. A mint-green Labubu standing 131 centimeters tall sold for 1.08 million yuan, or more than 150,000 dollars. The 48 items in the auction brought in 3.73 million yuan in total. About 200 people attended, and more than 1,000 bidders joined through an app.

ラブブは高値のつくコレクターズアイテムにもなっています。2025年6月、北京の永楽国際オークションが、ラブブだけを集めた初めてのオークションを開きました。高さ131センチのミントグリーンのラブブが、108万元（15万ドル余り）で落札されました。出品された48点の合計は373万元になりました。会場には約200人が集まり、1000人以上がアプリを通じて入札しました。

Pop Mart is now expanding outside China. In January 2026, the company added production in Mexico, Cambodia and Indonesia. It plans to make London its European headquarters. It is also working with Sony Pictures on a Labubu movie.
