(An urge to jump affirms the urge to live)」。

Have you ever stood in a high place and suddenly thought, "What if I jumped?" This is very common.
Scientists call it the high place phenomenon. In a German survey, about 60 percent of people said they had felt it. It also happens to people who have never wanted to die. One idea is this: your body steps back from danger first. Then your mind looks for a reason and makes a mistake.

Q2. In the German survey, about how many people had felt it?
about 60 percent of people said they had felt it とあるので C。
Q3. In this passage, "common" means ...
rare(まれな)は反対の意味。
Standing on a high balcony, some people suddenly imagine jumping and quickly step back. Psychologists call this the high place phenomenon. In 2012, researchers in Florida surveyed 431 college students online. They found that the experience was common even among students who had never thought about ending their lives. It was more common in people with high anxiety sensitivity, meaning they are easily frightened by physical signs of anxiety, such as a racing heart.
The researchers suggested that the brain's safety system makes the body step back first. A moment later, the mind tries to explain this movement and wrongly decides, "I must have wanted to jump." In other words, the urge may actually reflect a desire to stay alive.

Q1. What is the main point of the passage?
Q2. Who took part in the 2012 survey?
researchers in Florida surveyed 431 college students online とあるので A。
Q3. What can we infer from the phrase "the urge may actually reflect a desire to stay alive"?
The sudden, unwanted thought of jumping while standing at a height is known as the high place phenomenon, or the "call of the void." A 2012 online survey of 431 American college students found that it was reported even by participants who had never had suicidal thoughts, and that it was linked to anxiety sensitivity, the tendency to fear bodily signs of anxiety. The authors proposed that an automatic safety response pulls the body back from the edge before conscious thought catches up; the mind then searches for an explanation and mistakenly concludes that it wanted to jump.
A 2020 German study confirmed that the experience is common: about 60 percent of 276 people in a general online sample and 45 percent of 94 patients with a fear of flying reported it. The researchers cautioned that it should not be seen as a danger sign on its own. However, these were cross-sectional surveys, so the safety-signal hypothesis has not been directly tested, and the links found in the general sample did not appear in the clinical one.

最終文 these were cross-sectional surveys, so the safety-signal hypothesis has not been directly tested が限界の指摘なので B。
