Venezuela won its first World Baseball Classic title on March 17, 2026, beating the United States 3-2 in the final. The United States finished as runner-up for the second straight tournament. In the semifinals, Venezuela had beaten Italy 4-2, and the U.S. had defeated the Dominican Republic 2-1.
