せっかくのお祝いメッセージが逆効果にならないよう、知っておきたいNGパターンをまとめました。
「Good luck with your marriage!」は「結婚生活がんばってね」「うまくいくといいね」というニュアンスになり、「うまくいかないかも」という含みを感じさせます。代わりにBest wishesやWishing you all the bestを使いましょう。
親しい友人間のジョークとしてはOKですが、カードに書くと「遅すぎない？」というニュアンスに取られる場合があります。口頭では冗談のトーンで使い、文面では避けるのが無難です。
これは日本語でも同じですが、「前の彼より全然いい！」のような比較は絶対にNG。お祝いの場では、目の前の二人の幸せだけにフォーカスしましょう。
