ChatGPTの学習モードとは？10代向けChatGPTは答えより解き方へ

OpenAI started a new version of ChatGPT for teenagers in August. It is for users from 13 to 17 years old.

オープンAIは8月に、10代向けの新しいChatGPTを始めました。13歳から17歳の利用者のためのものです。

The new version has a study mode. In this mode, ChatGPT does not just give the answer. It asks questions and helps students solve problems step by step.

新しいChatGPTには「学習モード」があります。このモードでは、ChatGPTは答えをそのまま出すだけではありません。質問をしながら、生徒が一歩ずつ問題を解けるように手伝います。

When a student seems to look for a shortcut on homework, ChatGPT suggests the study mode. Students or their parents can also choose study hours. During those hours, the study mode turns on by itself. The app also tells teens to take breaks more often.

生徒が宿題で手をぬこうとしているように見えると、ChatGPTは学習モードをすすめます。生徒や保護者は、勉強の時間を決めることもできます。その時間になると、学習モードが自動でオンになります。このアプリは、10代の利用者に、前よりもひんぱんに休けいをすすめます。

Many students in Japan already use AI. A company asked 1,000 junior high and high school students in June. Nearly 80 percent said they use AI regularly.

日本では、すでに多くの生徒がAIを使っています。ある会社が6月に、中学生と高校生1000人に聞きました。80％近くが、ふだんからAIを使っていると答えました。

Most of them use it to look things up for school. More than half of the girls who use AI also ask it about their worries.

その多くは、勉強の調べものに使っています。AIを使う女子の半分以上は、なやみの相談もしています。

OpenAI began rolling out a version of ChatGPT for teenagers around the world in August. Called ChatGPT for Teens, it applies automatically to users who say they are 13 to 17. It also applies to users whom the company's age prediction system estimates to be under 18.

オープンAIは8月、10代向けのChatGPTを世界で順に提供し始めました。ChatGPT for Teens と呼ばれるこの版は、13〜17歳だと申告した利用者に自動で適用されます。会社の年齢予測システムが18歳未満だと推定した利用者にも適用されます。

The teen version's study mode asks guiding questions and walks students through problems instead of simply giving answers. A feature called the responsible homework reminder notices when a student seems to be taking a shortcut and points them to study mode. Teens or their parents can set study hours, during which study mode switches on automatically.

10代向け版の学習モードは、答えをそのまま示すのではなく、導くための質問をして、生徒と一緒に問題を一歩ずつ進めます。「責任ある宿題リマインダー」という機能は、生徒が手ぬきをしようとしているようすに気づくと、学習モードへ案内します。本人や保護者は勉強の時間帯を設定でき、その間は学習モードが自動でオンになります。

OpenAI said it wants teens to use AI for learning and creating while seeing less harmful content. The version adds age-appropriate protections around topics such as violence and dangerous activities. It also reminds users to take breaks more often during long sessions. Parents who link their accounts can set quiet hours and receive safety alerts in certain high-risk situations.

オープンAIは、10代が学びや創作にAIを使いながら、有害な内容にふれる機会を減らしたいと説明しました。この版には、暴力や危険な行為などの話題について、年齢に合った保護のしくみが加わっています。長い時間使っていると、前よりもひんぱんに休けいをうながします。アカウントを連携した保護者は、使えない時間帯を設定したり、特に危険な一部の場面で安全の通知を受け取ったりできます。

Business Insider Japan put the teen version to a test. Its reporter posed as a 15-year-old user. When asked for an 800-word essay, the teen version eventually produced 776 words. For an algebra problem, it showed both the answer and the steps to reach it. An OpenAI spokesperson recommended using study mode, noting that the service had only just launched.

Sony Life Insurance surveyed 1,000 junior high and high school students in Japan in June. It found that 77.0 percent of junior high students and 78.7 percent of high school students use generative AI regularly. Looking things up for schoolwork was the most common use, chosen by 70.0 percent of high school users. Many girls also ask AI about their worries. Among high school users, 54.7 percent of girls did so, compared with 32.7 percent of boys.

ソニー生命保険は6月、日本の中学生と高校生1000人を調査しました。その結果、中学生の77.0％、高校生の78.7％が生成AIをふだんから使っていました。いちばん多い使い道は勉強の調べもので、高校生の利用者の70.0％が選びました。なやみをAIに相談する女子も多くいます。高校生の利用者では、女子の54.7％がそうしていて、男子の32.7％を大きく上回りました。
