I can only speak for myself, but 〜 と前置きすれば、個人の考えとして話せます。
I don't know much about it, to be honest.
What do you think? / How is it in your country?
I'd rather not talk about politics, if that's OK.
Q: What's your religion?
A: I don't belong to any particular religion, but I do some religious things as customs. For example, I visit a shrine at New Year, and my family has Buddhist memorial services. For many Japanese people, these are more like traditions than strong beliefs.
Q: Do you believe in God?
A: That's a deep question. I'm not sure, but I feel that nature and ancestors are important. Many Japanese people feel something similar.
Q: Isn't it strange to celebrate Christmas and visit shrines?
A: I know it might seem strange! In Japan, many people enjoy events from different religions as cultural events. What about in your country?
"I'm not religious"
I don't belong to any particular religion, but 〜 が、多くの日本人の感覚に近い答え方です。
- There are different opinions about it in Japan.(日本でも意見が分かれています)
- Some people think 〜, while others think 〜.(〜
- Personally, I think 〜, but I'm still learning about it.(個人的には〜と思いますが、まだ勉強中です)
例:
Q: What do you think about the aging population in Japan?
A: It's a big issue. Some people think we need more support for families, while others think technology can help. Personally, I think both are important, but I'm still learning about it.
Some people think 〜, while others think 〜.
I understand this is an important topic for many people.
I'd like to learn more about how people in your country see it.
例
Q: What do Japanese students learn about the war?
A: We learn about it in history classes, but I feel I still don't know enough. I think it's important to learn about different perspectives. How is it taught in your country?
I'd like to learn more.
- That's a big topic! Maybe we can talk about it another time.(大きな話題だね!
- I'm not the best person to ask about that, but 〜(私はそれに詳しくないけど〜)
- Speaking of Japan, have you tried 〜?(日本といえば、〜は試した?)
- By the way, 〜(ところで〜)
例:
A: What do you think about the Japanese government?
B: Hmm, that's a big topic! I'm not the best person to ask. But speaking of Japan, have you been to any festivals yet?
