1An exhibition of original artwork from the manga Uma Musume Cinderella Gray will open at Sunshine City in Tokyo's Ikebukuro district on Dec. 19. It will run until Jan. 11, 2027, with the hall closed on Dec. 31 and Jan. 1. Details were announced on Oct. 21, and advance tickets go on sale on Oct. 26 for 1,800 yen.

2For the exhibition, the manga's artist, Taiyo Kuzumi, has drawn a new main image featuring 13 Uma Musume characters, including the heroine, Oguri Cap. Visitors will be able to view his analog line art, drawn by hand. On the opening day, entry will require a ticket for a set date and time, sold on a first-come, first-served basis.

3The manga ran in Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump from 2020 and ended on Dec. 25, 2025, after about five and a half years. The series now has more than 9 million copies in circulation. A TV anime version also aired in 2025.

4In the Uma Musume franchise, girls carry the names and spirits of real racehorses. The real Oguri Cap was born in 1985 and began racing in May 1987 at Kasamatsu, a local track in Gifu Prefecture. The horse won 10 of its 12 races there before moving to Japan's central racing circuit in 1988. Because of its strength, it was nicknamed the Gray Monster. The manga turns this into a Cinderella story about a gray-haired girl who rises from Kasamatsu to become a legend.

5The series has not completely stopped. Weekly Young Jump carried a new side story in its Oct. 22 issue. The manga's official X account said the story focuses on another character, Mejiro Ryan. The account also announced a 24th volume collecting side stories that have not yet appeared in book form. The account said it will go on sale on Dec. 17 as the new final volume of the series.
