Chiikawa Movie Is Number One Again

音声・ゲームはこちらから

1A Chiikawa movie has returned to number one in Japan almost three months after it opened. The anime film was the top movie over the weekend of October 9 to 11.

2It opened in theaters on July 24. That weekend was its 12th weekend, and about 375,000 tickets were sold.

3By October 12, theaters had sold more than 12.29 million tickets for the film. That is about one ticket for every 10 people in Japan. The movie has now made more than 17.9 billion yen.

4Chiikawa started as a comic by an artist called Nagano. The name comes from a Japanese phrase that means something small and cute. Theaters are still giving gifts to fans. A new set of small figures started on October 10.
